Fun friends, 2 40's, no A/C, pool afterwards.
Woke up next to Ophelia the curious cat by Sean's drums on the apartment floor back in Tuscaloosa at around noon. We gathered up and left asap.
We got there relatively early, and after checking in with the venue, roamed around downtown for a bit. Skated, cruised, ate some ice cream, etc. Neat lil' place.
Now, I had been to Little Hamilton before with Sun Hotel back in March. This was a whole different ballgame now. If you'd like to see the comparison between then and now, check out our video from then.
Anyway, basically, the place looked way nicer now, was run pretty well, and seemed to be where all the cool kids hung out. The Caddy crew had a nice spot of second-to-last, and after a duo of 40's for everyone (hence some shotty camera work, sorry), we all got down pretty hard. Extremely sweaty, but very successful and fun show.
Afterwards we were so kindly invited to hang out and swim at one of our new friend's pools, which was much needed and refreshing. Then, headed back to another friend's pad for dreams on couches.

Day 6 - Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL
House show double-feature!
The day began slow. I woke up with my set alarm at 8am to watch a live-chat feed of the USA - Algeria game. Thrilling.
After that me and Sean read some books and watched everyone else slowly wake up. We got out on the road at about 1pm.
We got the the Birmingham house right on time, at about 6pm and set up to play first at 7. Not gonna lie, it felt pretty weird. Maybe it was the early slow, maybe the small room, or the stagnant crowd, or maybe the guy rolling on the ground touching himself asking every girl for their number.
Anyway, our friends who came from Tuscaloosa just to see Caddy got there just as the set ended, so it was decided to come back to their place and just play a show there.
Bold move. But it payed off. The party was surprisingly bumpin', the kids were cool, the place was fun. After some mac n cheese, beat boxing, and all around additional ruckus, we promptly passed out on the floor while Chris serenaded us with "Flint" by Sufjan Stevens.
still kickin'

Day 5 - Hattiesburg, MS
"I don't like my shit fucked up girl. I don't like my shiiiit fucked."
fun night at a familiar place in MS with Jean-Eric.
Finally headed up north for real. We left at around 5:30pm for the Burg, got there right on time and were greeted with delightful sandwiches so graciously by our buddy Brad at the Thirsty Hippo. A familiar spot for Caddy, this was their third time playing there.
I'd be lying if I said that our anticipation of the show's success was bright for most of the night. from 7 until 10:30 it appeared as if we and the members of Jean-Eric might be the only attendees for the night.
However, Brad told us to have faith, and wait till 11 to play. We did. Alas, seemingly instantly right before 11 o'clock, a sizeble crowd showed up. Not just regulars, but true Caddywhompus fans who had been here before and came back for the good time.
Jean-Eric got the party started right then and never let it die. I love this band. Don't know what else to say. They rule and party hard always.
Caddy then carried on with their set and in the words of Chris Rehm himself it was, "probably the best show we've played in a while". Profound, and true, it was artful.
Us 3 along with all of our best buddies in Jean-Eric stayed the night in the upstairs apartment of the venue, which was exceedingly spacious and awesome, apart from a small concentrated amount of A.C. that we all huddled/drunkely sprawled around through the night.
tour is all super fun so far

Day 4 - New Orleans, LA 2
Generator show in a broken down building by the river.
We didn't know exactly where this was going to be held, I had to call a phone number with a pre-recorded message with loose directions, then meet up and scope around until we found an open area to wait for the hosts to arrive and show us where to go.
It was a pretty cool area, though. Mega-graffitti'ed, broken down industrial, empty, sketchy, awesome.
We showed up at 8, waited around till 9, loaded the gear in and got the generator running and such with lights and the amps, then waited for kids to show up and the music started at about 10:30.
After one first act that I unfortunately missed because I was on a beer run, Caddy did business. The setting was pretty awesome, I think. Many boys and girls started climbing the broken roof in the back and watched from up high, the rest made a pretty wide semi-circle around the lights and band. It felt right.
Sadly, a few minutes after their set, we heard the sirens and megaphones and had to bail out cause the po diggits were there.
Just as that party was gettin' rowdy.
Oh well.
We're headed out up to Hattiesburg today, sendin' all my lovin'.

Day 3 - New Orleans, LA
Back on home-turf for a sick show with all our frens.
Father's Day. We woke up all sprawled out on the apartment floor in Lafayette at around noon, me and Chris were huddled up sharing a 5ft blanket and when we checked the thermostat we saw "60". I also recall him trying to steal Sean's sleeping bag in the middle of the night right out from under him, which worked for about 30 minutes. Anyway, we headed out asap to N.O.
I had to show up to the show late because of family dinner and things, so unfortunately once again I don't have too much revealing footage, and more unfortunately I missed B L A C K I E's set. If you saw yesterday's vid, you know he wrecks hard and it's a sad thing to miss.
I got there in the middle of Limb's set, who were tearing it up pretty hard again. That clip of them I used in the vid is some serious breakdown S.
Chris and Sean did their thang next, and I was happy with finding a couple really cool angles from the back wall to film. Chris's guitar exploded during one of the early songs and he had to use the other band's guitar after, but other than that it was a pretty sick set.
Last for the night was long time New Orleans power-ska-wrecking crew Fatter Than Albert, who got the pit rolling and churning routinely. The temperature of the room literally rose about 10 degrees during the set, and the floor literally had to be mopped up afterwards.
We split off for the night cause I have to pack up to leave n such, we'll be in New Orleans again tonight playing a warehouse show with a generator, then leaving Tuesday for real.
awww yea

Day 2 - Lafayette, LA
Hey friends, Devin here, tagging along with Caddywhompus and filming/helping out/chilling hard for a while on this tour.
I met up with the homeboys Chris and Sean a little late, so this video is a little short and is mainly just live clips of the show at Artmosphere, except for Chris shredding a bit on the skateboard outside and getting yelled at for having tight jeans by a passing party bus.
And that's basically how the first day of my days with the tour went.
Got to the place early on, hung out with Limb and B L A C K I E a bit (who both rule, if you didn't catch that from the video), owned Chris in a game of SKATE outside right before the show, partied up with a solid show, then threw down afterwards and ended up crashing all on the floor of our pal Ian's apartment at 5am.
Picture-esque tour start.
Anyway, I'll be updating like this and posting videos (probably more informative ones) hopefully every day for a while on this tour, hope you dig it!
luv
